Yorkshire 3 Peak Challenge
The Yorkshire 3 Peak Challenge is a classic hillwalking challenge – A tough on the legs 25-mile walk in the Yorkshire Dales that summits Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in (hopefully) under 12-hours.
This is one for those who like to walk and then walk some more, think of this as a marathon but with over 1000m of ascent thrown in just for fun.
IS IT FOR ME?
If this is your first hill walk then probably not but if you have reasonable fitness and some time to prepare then this could be an ideal introduction to UK challenge walks.
If you are a large group we can also arrange a private event, please contact me.
ON THE DAY:
This is an unsupported event which means that it is fully guided by a qualified mountain leader who will guide you throughout the day but does not include valley support staff. If you voluntarily retire at a checkpoint or if the leader asks you to retire from the event you will be responsible for getting yourself back to your car/accommodation/start location etc. either by foot, taxi or train etc.
For safety reasons we use a minimum of 2 checkpoints (road crossings) with a cut-off time at the final checkpoint. Individuals or groups who are unable to meet the final cut-off time will not be permitted to attempt the final peak though a lower alternative route may be offered etc. Participants who retire from the event will only be allowed to leave the group at a checkpoint and not on the hill.
