The Langdale Valley – A Low Level (guided) Walk
**PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE THIS EVENT BEFOR CONTACTING US TO ENSURE THAT THE EVENT IS RUNNING. THE EVENT CAN BE ORGANISED FOR ANY DATES BETWEEN JULY AND SEPTEMBER**
This is one of our favourites and suitable for a wide range of abilities
This guided walk explores the Great and Little Langdale Valley around Lingmoor Fell and offers a taste of what this area has to offer. Most people will go high in this area but we will stay low on the rough tracks and paths (some road walking) to explore. Throughout the walk we will have views of Bowfell (one of England’s grandest old Fells), Crinkle Crags and the inspiring and craggy Langdale Pikes.
ON THE DAY:
The route is approximately 12 miles long and has something of interest at pretty much every turn. From slate quarrying landscapes, waterfalls, amazing views, forests, craggy mountains, packhorse bridges, mountain streams and tarns.
The Plan is to complete the 12 miles but it can be made shorter (as short as 6 miles) and has options in between including taking in the summit of Lingmoor Fell depending on the groups desires etc.
This is a relatively relaxed and enjoyable low level guided walk. During the walk the guide will offer up some facts about the area and allow you to enjoy the surroundings of one of the grandest Lake District valleys.
WHO IS IT FOR?
No hill walking experience is necessary for this event. The emphasis is on a slower more relaxed pace. However, at approximately 12-miles (full route) this is still a challenging distance on some rough paths and tracks so a degree of walking fitness will be required.
