According to Alfred Wainright Striding edge is the finest ridge in the Lake District for walkers.
Join us for a walk along the edges of Helvellyn (voted Britains favourite walk), a true Lake District Classic which takes in the circuit of Striding and Swirral edge. This route at times offers high levels of exposure but an interesting way to the summit of Helvellyn.
IS IT FOR ME?
In all but the best weather conditions the ridges should not be underestimated but we take it slow allowing us to enjoy it. General hill fitness will be required and a head for heights. For those wanting to walk the ridge but not hug the crest the major difficulties can be avoided and the walk leader will select a route that is suitable for the group as a whole and the weather encountered on the day. Please remember this is a guided group walk so we travel at the pace of the slowest and cross the ridge as a group.
