What is the lakeland 3000 Challenge

The pinnacle of Lake District challenge walks, a gruelling 35 miles and 4000m of ascent with a simple aim summit the 4 peaks over 3000ft. We prefer this one as a 2-day event for enjoyment reasons though it can be offered as a 24-hour challenge for those who like to push things

Is it for me?

This one needs a very good level of fitness and legs that don’t like to stop especially if you are on the 24hour challenge. To complete this challenge a very good level of hill fitness is required and it is expected that you would have completed other long-distance walks prior to signing up.

Whats Included?

  • Qualified Mountain Leader
  • Group of no larger than 10 participants to each leader
  • Event staff meeting us at checkpoints along the route with snacks and water
We start with an ascent of Skiddaw then on to Helvellyn. After this we have a long way to go until we reach the Two highest fells in England Scafell (964m) and Scafell Pike (978m) before the fast dash back to Keswick to beat the clock.
Due to the distance involved in this event. If for any reason you need to retire from the event Mountain Ascents will provide transport back to Keswick from a number of predetermined check points
