Coledale Ten Peak Challenge

The Coledale Ten Peak Challenge is a 13-mile event set amongst some of the quieter Lakeland fells.
 

What Is the Coledale 10 peak challenge

Set in the North Western fells of the Lake District National Park. This route covers 13 miles including travelling across rough mountain terrain. It is a tough walk with over 1800m of ascent and will take up to 9 hours to complete. Hill fitness and some training/preparation is recommended to ensure your enjoyment and that of your group.

When is it?

This challenge will be offered at various points between April to September or can be booked as a private event on any suitable date.

Whats Included?

  • Qualified Mountain Leader
  • Group of no larger than 10 participants to each leader

Where do we start and finish?

This challenge starts and finishes in the village of Braithwaite (near Keswick)
This challenge will be offered on open dates but can also be offered as a private event for groups. Groups are capped at a maximum of 10 participants per leader and with maximum group sizes of 20 though groups of this size will be split in to smaller groups to limit the environmental impact

What do you need?

to complete this challenge you will need the following items
  • Suitable hill walking clothes (no jeans)
  • Small backpack
  • Waterproofs (jacket and trousers)
  • Suitable walking boots with ankle support (no sports trainers or trail shoes)
  • lunch and snacks for on the Mountain
  • Water (minimum 1 litre)
  • Head torch
  • Spare fleece/jacket
